Survey on Women and Unrequited Love

I am doing research on women and unrequited love and need your help.

Women: Have you ever loved someone who didn't love you back?

I am looking at the experiences of women who have been or are in unrequited love. I'm seeking women who:
- loved someone who didn't return their love
- loved someone who longer loved them
- loved someone who could not have a relationship with them

Existing research shows many, many women have had these experiences. Much less is known about the variety of ways women respond to rejection and why. I hope my findings can help us understand these powerful emotions and feel less alone.

We all know the stereotypes of women in unrequited love: the bunny-boiling Alex in Fatal Attraction, the neurotic single woman who ignores the obvious signs that "he's just not that into" her. Is this what really happens? What are women's real stories?

Please help me by filling out this short survey. All information will be kept anonymous.

If you would be willing to be interviewed in more detail, please indicate so at the end of the survey. By sharing your story, you would be contributing to this project in a very important way.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact me at lisa@lisaaphillips.com. For more information on my own experience of unrequited love, read my essay in The New York Times

A Note On Privacy
This survey is anonymous.
The record kept of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you unless a specific question in the survey has asked for this. If you have responded to a survey that used an identifying token to allow you to access the survey, you can rest assured that the identifying token is not kept with your responses. It is managed in a separate database, and will only be updated to indicate that you have (or haven't) completed this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses in this survey.
